After completing the design of bank branches Sugamo Shinkin Bank in Tokiwadai and Niiza, the architectural firm Moureaux Emmanuelle has been responsible for architectural and interior redesign of this branch in Shimura, Tokyo .









The study sought to escape the seriousness normally accompanies the banks, providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, changing the rules of the game and atmosphere resulting in a fresh and full of light.






For this, the study was based on a basic concept: rainbow. The building is made up of a set of twelve layers of colors that peer out the front to invite customers to come. The colors also are reflected in the white surface of the building fund. At night, the dimly lit layers. The lighting varies according to season and time of day, evoking multiple landscapes.








The interior is full of light thanks to the construction of three elliptical skylight. The visitors, spontaneously, can look up and see a piece of sky, nature, space becomes open, spacious, airy. Following this idea opening to the sky, the ceiling is decorated with motifs reminiscent of dandelions, which seem to float and to drift in the air.



Inside has been used light oak floors to carpets combined with ,
also a neutral color, while for external has been used teak.




ATMs, cabin windows and consultation are at the first floor . Also, a small waiting room chairs of 14 different colors play outside on the inside. The second floor houses meeting rooms and a cafeteria, while the third floor is reserved for the clothing of personnel. Three large windows are located on the first and second level flooding the interior with natural light.
