The Finnish study casts a green town of 50,000 pers. in Mentougou, China. Ikea

Eco-Mentougou
Valley project is a study of Finnish architecture
Eriksson Architects Mentougou
is located about 30 kilometers from the city of Beijing
. This area is a mountainous area that acts of environmental protection between the urban area of \u200b\u200bthe city and the area designed. The mountains protect the traffic and pollution. With nearly 28 square kilometers , the project includes nine research institutes of the environment, businesses and commercial and residential areas for some 50,000 inhabitants
.

The homes are located in the valley walls.

The large buildings are located next to vegetation and water areas. The project was carried out jointly with experts in environmental infrastructure Eero Paloheimo Eco City.

This city combines modern science and innovation with green living and eco-efficient. Since land use, construction and traffic, to recycling and water management, eco-valley respects the environment and minimize their carbon footprint.
addition, the project combines elements of Chinese tradition
latest innovations with international environmental planning.
For its design, the study has provided in other eco-city projects as Huangbaiy or Masdar in Abu Dhabi. You can read about the city of Masdar in diarioDESIGN here.

precisely this new urban design aims
avoid the mismatch between supply and demand for housing
seen in the eco-city Huangbaiy, since the construction in this area is led by companies Chinese and international. The eco-Mentougou Valley also maintains the good principles of complete recycling of nutrients, the cornerstone of Huangbaiy.

As in the Masdar eco-city in Abu Dhabi, Mentougou, also ensures carbon neutrality. But it goes further, seeks to produce all its water
and boost local agriculture to meet the nutritional needs of eco-valley. For its construction, the architectural firm wants to work with local operators in the area.

Interestingly enough, hopefully they approve, the project ...
