MICHEL * As Governor of Mr. Rodolfo Chavez Carrillo (1955-1961), Prof . Juan Oseguera Velasquez, in his capacity as Deputy of the XXXVIII Legislature (1955-1958), after detailed study socioeconomic State proposed to Congress that the then town of Armory was elevated to the status of municipality, an initiative that did not reach consensus of the political actors of the time.

In the six years the Governor Mr. Francisco Velasco Curiel (1961-1967) were Presidents of the H. Board Armory Municipal Farias Jesús Vaca (1962-1964) and Don Eusebio Rincon Michel (1965-1967) and both, in their respective periods, with the support of Fr. Juan Hernández León and land commissioners of the time, continued to insist to crystallize the purpose longed to see our people become the tenth state of Colima City.

Finally, during New Year's greeting, in January 1967, Governor Francisco Velasco Curiel received armeritenses a group of citizens led by its president Michel Don Eusebio Rincon, who again asked him to intercede with the Congress state to Armory was elevated to the Municipality category. In this historic meeting were, among others, the Fr. Juan Hernández León, Don Pascual Moreno Barreto, Felipe Ramirez Victoria Virgin Pedro Alcaraz, Miguel Medina Gómez, Lino Pérez Corona, Emilio Perez Alcocer, Rafael Aguilar Villalvazo, Rosalio González Espinosa, Simón Sánchez Leal, Adolfo Bustos Solórzano, J. Jesus Vaca Farias, Salvador, and Victor Nolasco Mora, Emilio Pérez Sandoval, Francisco Lagarda Valenzuela, Ignacio Hoyos Velásquez, Gustavo de la Mora Sotomayor, Doña Chuy Lomeli, Maria Gomez, Porfirio Carrillo Vda. Jaramillo, Venturita Ruelas, Felicitas Carrillo Velasquez, Isaac Jaramillo Messina, Leobardo Alcantar Juarez, Valente Delgado Jiménez, Antonio Gómez Campos, Mauricio Rodriguez Contreras, J. Concepcion Aguilar de la Mora and my father Miguel Chávez Vega.

Years later, my father told me that the Governor Velasco Curiel, very moved, perhaps by the enthusiasm of the petitioners, requested the presence of Secretary General of Government Meillón Mr. Enrique de la Madrid and Members Othón Bustos Solórzano Jorge Velasco González Márquez and Roberto Fuentes, who, we commissioned the development of socio-economic and topographical studies relevant to support the forthcoming initiative for the people Armory was elevated to the status of municipality. This noble proceed was signed with applause, met lifelong appreciation and gratitude of all present and people in general.

In response to instructions from the Governor, with the support, experience and knowledge on the subject of the Principal Officer of the Congress Prof. Juan Oseguera and cartographer Elías Velásquez Méndez Pizano, the study commented, was prepared to point quickly. In the original proposal, whose plane kept hanging on the wall at the back of his chair in the rectory of the Fr Armory. Juan Hernández León and in more than one occasion I had in my hands, he envisioned that the new municipality be integrated with the peoples of Armory, Periquillo and Cuyutlán, the Paradise Spa and the villages of Brotherhood of Juarez, Cualatilla, skunks (now Kings), Santa Rita, Cualata (Venustiano Carranza today) and San Buenaventura.

In February 1967, at a meeting at the Government Palace, the Dip. Solórzano Bustos Othon, accompanied by Don Eusebio Rincon Michel armeritenses and other distinguished citizens, he was presented to the Governor Velasco Curiel surveying designed to build the City Armory. In Manzanillo, attended the Mayor Don Luis García Castillo, Rep.. Malaga Herminio Rojas and agrarian leader and former deputy of the District VII Benito López Rincón. In this second meeting, Miguel Ruelas Jaramillo, we realize, with a beautiful photograph published in his book written on Armory.

on this new session, in life, Father Juan Hernández León, with enthusiastic excitement and evoking the developments, told me that previous protocol, the political actors Manzanillo, in the voice of the mayor, said that in Initially, applauded and accepted the creation of the Municipality of Armory, but that did not agree with the surface and boundaries proposed for this purpose, Prof. Benito López Rincón proposed that instead of the villages of Santa Rita, San Buenaventura Cualata and is secreted from the premises Coquimatlán Rincon de Lopez, and the Bank Coastecomatán wasp. Proposal, which was eventually accepted, but for this, there were some disagreements.

Indeed, on days 20, 22 and 23 February 1967 the Presidents of the ejido Santa Rita, Venustiano Carranza and San Buenaventura accompanied by several residents of these villages appeared before the Governor and the State Congress to express personally and in writing their disagreement to be included in the new Municipality of Armory. From the above, there is evidence in the record of the State Congress held on Thursday, May 4 that year.

In my next collaboration will continue with the story of this great event. For now, I congratulate my people, its makers and descendants, because May 26 is reached thirty-nine-year history of H. Formal Session State Congress, verified in the School premises "Adolfo Lopez Mateos" of the now City Armory, where the Dip. Roberto González Fuentes read the Decree No.119 which was erected by the City Armory. But this popular festival, I will write next week. Congratulations Armory.
